CVT designs and operates a great variety of specialized units for research purposes. There are units for high and low pressure, reactors operating in backmixed or plug flow mode, steady state or instationary. Most units are designed for gas-solid reactions.

The picture below shows a CAD drawing of one of our pilot-scale units. The unit depicted has two tubular multi-sampling reactors in series (brown) with a total catalyst bed length of 3,85 m. Gas compositions and temperatures can be analyzed at 16 sampling points along the reactor. In addition to on-line GC for product analysis, the unit is equipped with an afterburner and on-line CO/CO2 analysis for continuous monitoring of the carbon mass balance.
