Integration of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and hydroprocessing for the production of liquid fuels

Integration of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and hydroprocessing for the production of liquid fuels

Prof. Dr. B. Kraushaar-Czarnetzki

This project aims at the development of a simplified processing route from synthesis gas to liquid fuels, preferably middle distillates. The idea is to combine FT synthesis, hydrocracking and hydroisomerisation without intermediate separation and fractionation of the FT reactor effluent. The CVT part of the project, which is carried out in cooperation with Prof. Schaub (FT synthesis), is focused on the development of hydroprocessing catalysts. Here, hydroprocessing should work under the conditions of the FT synthesis, i.e. at relatively low temperature and in the presence of water vapour and residual synthesis gas. Furthermore, the kinetics of the process will be assessed and implemented into a reactor model.
