Research at CVT (Chemische Verfahrenstechnik, Chemical Process Engineering) can be summarized with the term "Catalytic Reaction Engineering and Processing".
Our activities in the field of catalysis include the formulation and shaping of heterogeneous catalysts, their functional characterisation and the assessment of transport and reaction kinetics.
Furthermore, we develop dedicated units for kinetic studies and for the exploration of novel processing options, and we apply modeling and simulation tools. Reactions under study are diverse, however, partial oxidation reactions and acid-base reactions (over zeolites and modified oxidic catalysts) play a major role. Some selected topics are highlighted on our research page.
Our teaching activities comprise lectures, seminars and practical courses in the fields of chemical reaction engineering, chemical processing and heterogeneous catalysis.
